Q&A
DEFINE YOURSELF AESTHETICALLY:
↳ An eclectic mash-up operating within liminal spaces — infused with curiosity, whimsicality, and boldness.
WHAT UNIQUE QUALITIES DO YOU BRING TO THE FASHION INDUSTRY?
↳ I study the stories our clothes tell. My research and creative practice explore how what we wear shapes identity, influences culture, and connects to the world around us — merging creative design with critical, anthropological insight.
WHAT DRIVES YOU TO TEACH?
↳ The transformative power of learning. Watching students find confidence in their ideas and witnessing those moments of revelation — when everything clicks and they stand taller in their creativity — is endlessly inspiring.
WHAT IS YOUR TEACHING PHILOSOPHY?
↳ To empower students to uncover their own design DNA. My goal is not to shape their aesthetic, but to help them articulate their authentic voice with confidence, thoughtfulness, and integrity.
CAREER HIGH:
↳ Exhibiting family heirloom objects in the Africa Fashion exhibition at the Victoria and Albert Museum — a celebration of African creativity, innovation, and heritage that brought global attention to diverse narratives within fashion.
